A
Brief Biography About The Artist - M.C.Gillis |
|
I was raised in
Lexington, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston, rich in natural
wonders and history. An eye for for detail and an
appreciation of variety developed, as I explored the swamps,
meadows and woods of my hometown. My love for nature and
the arts began at a very young age. |
|
During my teen years, I became
discouraged about my dream of being an artist (visual, musical and martial). |
|
The road, to
this place and time in my life, has not been a straight and narrow
path. Navigating through a variety of schools, working
situations, dwelling places and relationships, I became a strong,
creative, flexible, adaptable, and caring human being. I am
thankful for the difficulty of the journey. These strengths
serve me well. They were especially helpful when I taught elementary art at a school with children of diverse
backgrounds. That was a time of great learning for me.
I have over thirty years of work experience in a variety of
fields. |
|
Due to the
abundance and variety of opportunities I've had to express my
creativity, I consider myself wealthy. I am passionate about
growing in love, wisdom, consciousness, and healing wholeness. I
love people. I want to make a difference in the world. I believe we all can. It's obvious the planet needs
some loving, isn't it? I put my whole heart into my work. Life and
art are works in progress.
